Astrid Sterner de Leon was born in Spain, where she started taking pictures, developing them in her dark room and filming in Super 8. Her passion was capturing the emotions and depth of people. She was accepted in 2010 at the prestigious Central Saint Martins Art School in London, where she studied Documentary and Fine Art Photography and Film.
After having completed her studies successfully, she was chosen for training with the prestigious Magnum Photos for young talent where she further shaped herself in Documentary and Fine Art.
In 2010 Astrid moved to New York where she started her work in Fashion and Lifestyle. She assisted for the renowned photographer Mario Sorrenti for several years and then started her own career in 2015. Astrid now lives between NY and Europe. She is known for bringing out authentic and touching performances in actors and models and for her broad imagination to create unique stories.
